Mapping the entire human brain – a dream that may come through for the UChicago scientist and current CBC awardee, Narayanan (Bobby) Kasthuri
In a video, produced by UChicago and titled “Brain mapping at the University of Chicago,” UChicago neuroscientist Bobby Kasthuri discusses the possibility of mapping the entire human brain and what that means for improving mental health, energy efficiency and artificial intelligence in the future. In his research, Kasthuri taps the unique resources available to the scientists from the greater Chicago area at the National Labs at Argonne. Kasthuri is a recent CBC awardee: together with Irina Balyasnikova (NU), he received a 2017 CBC Catalyst Award for the project titled: “The Connectome of Newly Born Neurons.” Congratulations!
